Dulce Sanchez Petrey 

Dulce Petry is a Senior Quality Assurance Manager for Mayday Manufacturing and Hi-Tech Metal Finishing. She has been in the Aerospace industry over 17 years.
Petry is proficient in the Aerospace Industry OEM requirements, standard AS9100 Quality Management Systems and National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program.
Petry is passionate and motivated with a drive for excellence, loves community work and enjoys getting others excited about it. 


 Anjelita Cadena Anjelita Cadena 
Chair Elect  

Anjelita Cadena is a first generation college graduate, she is an advocate for education as a means to advance equality, political participation, and inclusion.
Angie earned a BS in Mathematics form Texas A&M University in Kingsville, an MBA in Corporate Finance from the University of Denver, and a PhD in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Dr. Cadena brings over 25 years of experience in both a corporate environment and small business, including a real estate brokerage, to the classroom as an Assistant Professor of Real Estate and Finance at the University of North Texas.
Involved in advocacy since the 70s, currently the Chair, Denton County Democratic Party, Vice-Chair, Latino Democrats of Denton County. Her volunteerism has led her to treasurer positions with candidates and political groups such as Democratic Women of Denton County and Stonewall Democrats of Denton County.

Clarissa Cantu
Education Chair

Clarissa Cantu was born and raised in Decatur, Texas and has been living in Denton for the past 14 years.
Ms. Cantu received her Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of North Texas in 2008. In 2015 she obtained her Masters of Science in Counseling and Development from Texas Women’s University.  
Ms. Cantu is currently in her 5th year as a School Counselor at Ginnings Elementary.

Nancy Zamora

Nancy Zamora

Nancy Zamora is a graduate of Texas State University where she received her Bachelors of Business Administration in Management. Ms. Zamora received her Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from Texas A&M University – Commerce. 
Driven by her passion to see students excel beyond their barriers, Ms. Zamora began her career with TRIO in 2010 and is currently serving as the Director of the TRIO SSS program for the North Central Texas College District since 2017. Ms. Zamora also currently serves as 
President of the Texas TRIO Association to which she was elected in 2018, as well as a Board Member for the Southwest Association of Student Assistance Programs (SWASAP).

Desiree Padron from Denton, Texas is a graduate from the University of North Texas with a Bachelors Degree in Spanish and Secondary Education and a Masters Degree in Public Administration.
She is a Program Project Specialist at UNT under the Federal TRIO programs.
She has served with various nonprofits, leadership organizations, and believes in public service for the change and benefit of our community.

Daisy Garcia 

Daisy is a first generation Mexican American and college graduate. After completing her Associates of Science from NCTC, she earned a BBA in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources and recently completed her Master's degree in Higher Education Administration from UNT. She can be seen engaging with students in her role as Director of Student Life & Campus Housing at NCTC and Djing on the weekends. She is also involved with Latinos at the Square, a Denton-based podcast that promotes local Latinx Dialogue.
