HWNT Houston held the HWNT Scholarship Banquet for the Class of 2011 on May 28. The participants were presented with scholarships at the Pasadena Admin Building. Congratulations girls!

OTHER EDUCATION SERIES HIGHLIGHTS
Congratulations to Melany (one of the students in our Education Series) who won the "Money Makes a Difference" Award cash prize of $500 from The Women's Resource of Greater Houston! We could not be more proud of her!
On February 19, 2011 the Education Committee was grateful and fortunate to have the KDX Sorority host this year's U of H visit.
The sorority introduced themselves and started the day with a fun ice breaker. You had to use your communication skills to figure out "who" you were by asking questions regarding the name that was on your back. Others could see your card so they knew how to answer. The girls had a great time!
After the ice breaker, we embarked on a tour of the beautiful campus. If the girls weren't excited before, they definitely were excited about college life after the tour! Once lunch was complete, a successful U of H alumni and KDX Sister Maria Duran of the Houston Dynamo spoke to the young women about college, "the real world", internships and strong communication skills.
Following her presentation, an employee from Financial Aid Work Study Program introduced the girls to work-study programs. All in all, everyone had a blast! Check out more photos on our FB page!
