Women's Network of Texas RGV
Chapter presents Alida Hernandez
The
Hispanic Women's Network RGV will have Alida S. Hernandez as
their guest speaker for their Feb. 11, 2009
meeting. The Hispanic Women's Network RGV meets at
the McAllen Chamber of
Commerce located at 1200 Ash every 2nd Wednesday of the month
at 12:00
(noon).
Alida,
will be speaking on "The Heart of the City" which is a project
that is very close to her heart. Alida is the Chairman of the board and
has been for the past 4 years she and the Board of Directors have been
working in the revitalization and the redevelopment of the downtown
area the areas bounties are from Expressway 83 to Hackberry and 10th
Street to Bicentennial Ave. The Heart of the City is
responsible for
creating three districts the McAllen Arts District, The Entertainment
District and The Retail District.
Alida, professional background consists of over
40 years of experience
in successfully meeting the employment needs of individuals and
businesses. 20+ years experience working with community-oriented,
non-profit and political organizations, with expertise in providing
leadership in fundraising efforts. Adept at identifying community needs
as well as developing and implementing a plan of action to address
those needs. Alida, retired this November after 40 years of working
together with Jennie Morehead in the employment business.
Alida's professional activities and Organizations include the McAllen
Chamber of Commerce, Leadership McAllen, Hispanic Mother Daughter
Program (University of Texas), McAllen Economic Development
Corporation, Co-Founder Bridge Academy of Learing, McAllen Business and
Professional Women, McAllen Business Alliance,Rio Grande Valley

Association, Salvation Army, Arts in the Park Chairman, American Red

The Hispanic Women's Network is a state wide
nonprofit
organization made up of individuals from diverse backgrounds who are
committed to promoting the participation of women in public, corporate
and civic life. It seeks to advance the educational, cultural, social,
legal and economic well being of women through a broader awareness of
their role in society, business and the family. It welcomes into its
membership anyone who is supportive of its purposes and who cooperates
in carrying out its programs of education and activities.
The Hispanic Women's Network (RGV Chapter), is a
nonprofit 501C/3
organization that promotes its members and invites anyone who is
interested in networking to attend the monthly luncheons that are held
every second Wednesday of each month at the McAllen Chamber of
Commerce.
The Hispanic Women's Network of Texas, Rio
Grande Valley Chapter
will hold their monthly meeting on Wednesday,
February 11, 2009, at the
McAllen Chamber of Commerce (1200 Ash Street) at 12:00 (NOON).

HWNT membership consist of professional
business women, of these
65 to 70 % are business owners with a common goal and that
is mentor
and to educate the entire membership.

growing their business and networking to attend the luncheon meeting.
