Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas helps students

The Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas held an educational workshop for Pasadena ISD high school girls and their parents designed to inform upcoming sophomores and seniors about the process of getting into college.

The event included student games and lectures on a variety of topics such as financial aid, college admissions and scholarships. Harris County Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Judge Jo Ann Delgado gave a keynote address relaying her personal testament of becoming the first Hispanic female to be elected Justice of the Peace.

In addition, a panel discussion was held during the workshop. Consul General of Mexico Carlos Gonzalez Magallon and HWNT Houston Chairwoman Anna Marie Guzman Protz were key speakers during the discussion, in which they strongly encouraged parents to support their children’s education.
