  Gracie Saenz
Former Houston City Councilwoman
   
  Graciela Guzman Saenz is a practicing attorney with her Firm of Oppel, Goldberg & Saenz P.L.L.C. 

She is a native Houstonian and received her B.A. degree from the University of Houston and her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston Law Center in 1986. 

She has held public office as a City Councilmember at Large for the City of Houston and ran for Mayor in 1997.  She holds numerous Board position including as a Commissioner with the Harris County Housing Authority; the Memorial Herman Hospital System; the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; Project G.R.A.D. and The Plaza Group. 

She has been the recipient of many recognitions and awards throughout her career with her most recent recognition as the 2007 Sor Juan Women of Achievement and the 2007 Texas Executive Women's Women on the Move Award. 

She is the proud mother of three great kids and four incredible grand children.
